Borders Open-Door Poetry celebrates
passion, individuality and the power of the written and spoken word. It’s
authentic, thought-provoking, and bristling with the type of raw energy
that comes from the act of self-expression.
Borders would like to congratulate Patricia Smith, a frequent contributor to Borders Open-Door Poetry, for her recent National Book Award nomination for Blood Dazzler, a moving chronicle of the human, physical and emotional toll exacted by Hurricane Katrina. Her powerful and eclectic voice shines, on both page and stage. We appreciate and are thankful for her work, as well as that of her fellow nominees.
