Christian Bale returns to the role he created in Batman Begins with The Dark Knight, Two-Disc Special Edition (also available on widescreen single-disc edition, Blu-ray edition). Intent on ridding Gotham of organized crime once and for all, Batman teams up with Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). Their small successes are quickly overshadowed by maniacal criminal The Joker, played with stunning idiosyncrasies by Heath Ledger in his last film role. The Joker's explosive violence triggers near chaos on the streets of Gotham, prompting Batman to visit his own dark side as he tries to restore peace. Director Christopher Nolan adds elegance and sophistication to the Batman narrative. The Two-Disc Special Edition and Blu-ray editions also include tons of extras, including behind-the-scenes footage as well as a digital copy of the full feature film.
