SANDWICH GENERATION ISSUES
Hey Mel,
My problem is that my parents died (mother in 1987 and father in 1999) and left a small piece of property (farm) in a living will for my sister and me. ... The reason for my writing to you is to help me (and probably others in a similar situation) in what to do when parents die and who to turn to for guidance in dealing with the property, the taxes, and the physical stuff. As part of the sandwich generation, we have to deal with caring for our parents as well as our children—while not losing ourselves in the process. I type this and realize that I’ve not been able to “let go” of my parents, even though it’s been 8 almost 9 years since my father died. I appreciate your advice and guidance— Ruby C
